C. Nelson Waring was born November 20, 1892 in Embro, Ontario. Charles wrote that he was an unmarried student at the time of his enlistment on January 18, 1916 and that his next-of-kin was his mother Mrs. Elizabeth Waring of R.R. #2 Ingersoll. His regimental number was 675291 and he was of the Presbyterian faith. Charles farmed on Lot 24 Concession 4, and also sold insurance after the war.
