Biography

Charles Andrew Wannamaker (born Sept. 14, 1916, in Toronto) enlisted on Dec. 13, 1943, and served with the Canadian Army in Canada and Britain. Part of his service for King George Vl included the guarding of Queen Elizabeth. He was discharged from service on Feb. 26, 1947, and received the Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp and the War Medal. In 1949 he and his wife Gladys (Webb) bought her parents’ farm on lots 14 and 15, Concession 5.
