John Edward Shepherd was born about 1910.  John served in the RCAF 405 Vancouver City Squadron, Pathfinder Force as a Pilot Officer, Air Gunner. John was shot down May 4, 1944 in a Lancaster Air Craft ND881 during a night raid over Montididier, France. He listed his next of kin Ada and Hal Simpson, parents, Brigden, Ontario.
