Biography

Fred was the son of James and Vera McLellan of Lot 4 Concession 10 of East Nissouri Township and he enlisted in 1943 in London.  He trained at Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island and Camp A23 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. After a radar course in Barriefield, Ontario, he was transferred to the Royal Canadian Artillery at Petawawa, Ontario.  He was in Debert, Nova Scotia ready to be shipped overseas when the war ended and he was then discharged in London in May 1946.  Fred married Evelyn Tate and together they raised 2 children.  He is buried in Wesley Methodist Cemetery.
