Biography
June W. (Karn) (1925-2007) was the daughter of Ira Karn. She was heading overseas but when she reached Newfoundland, her appendix burst and they sent her back. Because Newfoundland wasn’t yet part of Canada that was classified as overseas service. Following the war, she and her mother visited the wounded soldiers who were being treated at a makeshift hospital at Crumlin Airport in London. There she met and later married Burnell Hedberg of Saskatchewan who had served in WW11 and they lived in Thamesford, Ontario, Canada.
