Biography

Jack E. Hollingshead was the son of Mr & Mrs Albert Hollingshead of R.R. # 2, Ingersoll. Pte Hollingshead was born on the 9th Concession of Dereham and spent his entire life in the Culloden district where he attended school. He enlisted in October 1943, trained at Brampton and Camp Borden and went overseas in July 1944. He served in Belgium and Germany, before being killed in action April 12, 1945 in Holland at the age of 20. His name appears on the Cenotaph at the Zorra Township Office and in the West Oxford Church Book.
