Biography

John Stanley Elliott was born in July of 1897, a son of George Edward and Isabella Elliott.  He attended Dicksons School. Prior to enlisting on February 28, 1916 he was a farmer. Mrs. Bella Elliott was listed on his Attestation Papers as his mother and his next-of-kin. He enlisted with the 168th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Forces. After the war Stanley ran an electrical business in Ingersoll at the corner of Thames and King Street, across from the present day Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce.
